Any of several South American trees of the genus Hevea (family Euphorbiaceae) which yield latex from which natural rubber is made; especially the para rubber tree, H. brasiliensis, of the Amazon basin. Also: this rubber itself. Frequently attributive, especially in "seringa rubber", "seringa tree".
