Any of various flowering plants constituting the genus Ageratum (family Asteraceae (Compositae)), native chiefly to tropical America; especially any of the many cultivated varieties of A. houstonianum (formerly A. mexicanum) commonly grown in gardens for their clusters of pink, purple, or blue flowers.
