Summer Holidays -ake Words

Danny's family goes to the lake every summer. When they go to the lake, they get to wake up later and make pancakes for breakfast, which they never do at home.

After breakfast, Danny always goes to play around the lake with his brother. They play soccer all day, and once Danny kicked the ball so high it went into the lake! His brother had to swim really far to get it. Danny's grandma and grandpa always come to visit on Friday afternoons.

When they come, Danny's mom makes them a big cake, and Danny always gets to eat the biggest piece. Summers at the lake are the best!

Chase asked his mom if he could go to the park and play outside with his friends in the rain. "As long as you put your raincoat on," she said.

Chase hurried to the door and ran outside, but before he could get to the park, his mom shouted, "Come back, Chase, and put on your raincoat." "But my raincoat has a stain on it!" Said Chase.

"Don't make me ask again, please!" his mom said.

Chase quickly went inside, put on his raincoat, and headed for the main park because his friends were waiting for him.

"You're late again!" Shouted Emily. "I'm sorry, my mom made me put on my raincoat, but look, it has a stain!" Chase said. "That's okay. You're just in time to watch the steam train pass." Said Emily.

Chase and his friends watched with great excitement as a large, noisy, but beautiful steam train passed beside the main park where they were all standing.

"Wow, that was amazing. Can we see it again tomorrow?" Said Chase.

"Of course," his friends screamed as they all skipped home because it was almost dinner time, and they were hungry after their adventures in the rain.

"How was the steam train?" Said Chase's mom.

"Good, but very draining," Chase said.

Have you ever heard of Camel, who lives in a castle? This Camel sits upon a cube and drinks tea from a cotton cup. He has a pet cobra called Callie who likes to calmly curl its long tail around the cube and go to sleep.

Camel's favorite season is winter. He loves it when it's cold! He dresses up in his soft cotton jacket and scarf and throws snowballs with Callie. Once, they made a snowman as big as a skyscraper! It was so big it reached the top of the trees.

They gave the snowman a cute carrot nose and twigs, which were its arms. Camel gave the snowman his cotton jacket to keep him nice and warm. What a funny camel! Have you ever heard of Camel, who lives in a castle?
