Any plant of the genus Ornithogalum (family Liliaceae), comprising perennial herbs native to the Mediterranean region and southern Africa, with bulbous roots and (usually) racemes of greenish-white flowers; especially O. umbellatum. Also (in form Ornithogalum): the genus itself.
